SLC Minutes 7/16/08
Meeting Place: Surya Nagar Farm, Fairfield 7:30pm
Creating a budget for new personnel:
Discussed what new personnel we would like to have for next year and what kind of salaries we can reasonably offer. Decided on a BGS coordinator, a groundkeeper/maintainance person for the 10 wk. course, and an SLC director. One idea was to see about sharing the SLC director with the city to tap into some of the money they have available for their own green coordination staff.
BGS coordinator/director: $15-20000 yearly salaried position BGS maintainance/groundskeeper: $4000 per season SLC director: $25000 from city $10-20000 from us ---------------------------------- $44000 + 15% for taxes etc $50000 GOAL
Facilities Budget
Discussed what we would like to have for buildings on campus next year. Decided living space for 10 interns, one director, and one groundskeeper. Several strategies were discussed, including building a pole barn for basic housing/classroom/kitchen space as a minimum. Estimated cost is $50000.
We will be arranging a meeting with Martha Norbeck to determine cost estimate for phase 1 of the original campus plan.
