Description

Permaculture (permanent agriculture) is the conscious design and maintenance of agriculturally productive ecosystems which have the diversity, stability, and resilience of natural ecosystems. It is the harmonious integration of landscape and people providing their food, energy, shelter, and other material and non-material needs in a sustainable way. Without permanent agriculture there is no possibility of a stable social order.

Permaculture design is a system of assembling conceptual, material, and strategic components in a pattern which functions to benefit life in all its forms.

The philosophy behind permaculture is one of working with, rather than against, nature; of protracted and thoughtful observation rather than protracted and thoughtless action; of looking at systems in all their functions, rather than asking only one yield of them; and allowing systems to demonstrate their own evolutions.

What is a Permcaulture Certification Course?

Our Permaculture Design Certification course is taught using an internationally recognized curriculum developed by Bill Mollison laid out in his book A Permaculture Designers Manual.  Our course is a two week in residence intensive delivering the required 72 hours of class time. On successful completion of the course, you will earn a internationally recognized certificate.

During these two weeks, you will learn the ethics and principles of permaculture along with basic design tools and strategies to impliment them in your own home and community.  Maybe you would like to turn your lawn into an edible paradise.  Maybe you're interested in solutions to global climate change.  Maybe you're a creative soul looking for a way to integrate environmental responsibility into your life.  Maybe you have a piece of land and want to make the best use of it.  There are many things a permaculture course teaches, and many things you can take away from it.  These tools can be adapted and applied successfully whether you live in a dense urban evnronment or a large acre farm.

What could be more meaningful than spending ones time working towards the creation of a world that works for everybody?
